Welcome Message from the Scientific Committee Chairman
Dear Colleagues,
New trends and challenges to General Practice/ Family Medicine are being put forward by the rapidly changing social and economic situation in many parts of the world. Join us for the 19th WONCA Europe Conference, in 2-5 July 2014, where you will nd an advanced scienti c program with lots of talks, seminars, research presentations and discussions under the theme “New Routes for General Practice and Family Medicine". Main discussions will focus on innovation, personalized and comprehensive care, knowledge management, and what the new generation of family doctors should expect and can do.
The Lisbon WONCA 2014 is drawing close. High quality keynote speakers have already accepted our invitation to participate: Carl Edvard Rudebeck, Joana Carneiro, Margaret McCartney, Michael Kidd, Richard Roberts and Richard Smith. We are in the process of inviting reviewers to help us with the evaluation of around 2000 expected abstracts. The abstract submission system will be launched in June 2013.
The WONCA 2014 should end with some strong take-home messages. To reach that goal we need multiple sources of evidence and di erent clinical experiences. We need your work to be shared. The WONCA Conference is a unique and unmissable opportunity to meet face to face with colleagues from different parts of the world. It is a major contribution for the development and consilience of knowledge. We call all general practitioners/family physicians, all the networks and primary care organizations, to participate in the enrichment of the scientific program, submitting their works and organizing special topic sessions or workshops.
